DOUBLE SERIES FINALE! Beyblade 51 + Let's & Go!! 50-51

Yep, that's right. With this release, both series are done.

Now all that's left is the wait for the complete batches. Knowing us it might take a while to get them done, but hopefully you'll bear with us just a little more.

We've got some plans for next year and some other stuff to talk about, but I'll leave that for a separate post I'll make after the year ends.

Yume no Crayon Oukoku - 01

Hey there.

A while back, I was asking myself about what series I should take on as my own project under SquareSubs—it needed to be something I liked, something relatively unknown, and preferably something from the 90s, so as to fit in with the rest of our subgroup's portfolio. After having watched Ojamajo Doremi over the summer (thanks, Doremi Fansubs!), I found out about a little show called Yume no Crayon Oukoku (literally 'The Crayon Kingdom of Dreams') that aired right before it, which was handled and created by mostly the same staff. Immediately interested, I sat out to look for it.

While the show picked up popularity in France thanks to its French dub, it never made it to a wider Western audience until recently, when a kind guy who goes by Leupho started subbing it by re-translating it from the French dub. I asked for his permission to take over by translating directly from the raws, and he agreed, saying he wants the anime to be accessible to "the widest audience possible". Given his blessing, I started work on the first episode in pseudo-secret, and here we are a few weeks later. Special thanks to this guy, because I wouldn't be doing it otherwise.

SquareAnon agreed with my choosing to sub it, and will be serving as my primary editor for this series as it is my first time being the lead/initial translator for our subs. I will be going through each episode for a second editing pass before posting it, but if you notice any issues, please let me know; most of this is being done on my own, so it's possible that there are things I've overlooked.

This will not have a large impact on the other shows we are currently subbing and plan to sub due to the fact that our translation work runs parallel. Don't worry about that.

With all of that said, here's the episode:

Beyblade 49-50 + Let's & Go!! 48-49

Yes, yes. Late post, I'm sorry.
Men in tights

Beyblade 49
Beyblade 50

Let's & Go!! 48
Let's & Go!! 49

Beyblade and Let's & Go!! Two great series, and now we're close to the ending for both of them. Many have asked if we're going to work on the following seasons (2002 and WGP respectively) and many answer to both is YES! (probably)

However, as I said many times in the past, the next series on our schedule is Dash!! Yonkuro, so we will be doing that one first. We might be able to do Beyblade 2002 at the same time (no promises though) because the kind folks at Hoshi no Yume will be once again assisting us with the translations.

Beyblade 48 + L&G 46-47

Really makes you think...
Yeah I'm a shit blogger. Sue me.
Anyway, here are the episodes:

I always say I'll try to keep the blog up to date, but I also always forget to do so after uploading the torrents, so sorry about that. You'll have better luck just looking for our group's name on nyaa every 3-4 days or setting up an RSS for our releases.

On another note, HOLY SHIT WE'RE 3/4 EPISODES AWAY FROM FINISHING BOTH LET'S & GO!! AND BEYBLADE, HOW ABOUT THAT? And yeah, Beyblade still doesn't have a batch torrent. Our editor had some RL issues so work has been slow on that front. We're still working on it though. You know how it is with us and batches...

Beyblade 42/43/44 + L&G 42

When a shounen protagonist's carreer ends and he gets hired as an extra.
It's been a while but here we are (too bad all these episodes have already been uploaded for a while).

I know that many people are asking for a Beyblade batch (or for seeds on the old episodes' torrents). All I can say is, we're working on it and we'll keep you updated. Unfortunately real life has been getting in the way lately so things are going slowly. We hope you'll understand.
For now I can redirect you to this post which has MEGA links for most of all the old episodes.

Status Update

Sorry for the lack of news in the last couple of weeks. I've had some RL-related matters that kept me quite busy (so busy that I could hardly get in touch with the other group members).
Luckily that should be over now, so starting tomorrow I'll go back to subbing!

So yeah. Don't worry, we're still alive!

Let's & Go!! 40-41 + Beyblade 41

Let's settle this (unless someone has a definite answer coming from Japan)
Sorry for the lateness as usual, here are our latest releases:

  • L&G 40 si
  • L&G 41 si
  • Beyblade 41 si

(pantsu links coming soon)

Beyblade 40 + L&G 38-39

UPDATE: We've been told that there was an error in the Let's & Go!! batch in the 720p version. Here is the fixed version: si pantsu
Actual fixed version coming soon, sorry.

The error was episode 4 being muxed with the subtitles for episode 3.  If you already had downloaded the batch, you can just redownload ep 4 ignoring the rest.
Here's a fixed version of ep 4: si

Sorry for the inconvenience.

It's time for a (partially) late update.
Let's & Go 40 should be ready relatively soon.

Beyblade editor's notes, plus some other information

Hi there. I'm the current preliminary editor for Bakuten Shoot Beyblade, having taken over for Celestine around the beginning of the Europe arc so that she could work on Let's & Go full time. You may remember me from when we first did Medarot; I took a break for a while thereafter, but that's neither here nor there—with the writing of this post, I hope to inform you why we made some particularly tricky editing decisions over the past arc. Keep in mind that we plan to correct any issues in both my own and Celestine's work for the final batch.

Team WHO (Team Shadow)
  • Inconsequential as it was, this was changed in translation because we couldn't make sense of the original Japanese—we're all Westerners, and a newer subgroup at that, so the pronunciation of wasei-eigo can sometimes screw with us. Hoshi no Yume was nice enough to correct us on this one, so props to them.
  • Names of some other team members will be de-localised for additional clarity, but here are explanations regardless:
    • Kairona was localised as Phan because I interpreted the 'kai' to be the same kai used in youkai; it was condensed from there to match the simplicity of the others' names.
    • Jai was assumed to be a condensation ja nai, to refer to his not being human, so I used the cadav from cadaver
    • Vlad was misinterpreted as Blood for the same reason as the team name, and while it's really still the same idea, we'll correct it for the sake of posterity.
    • Howly is supposed to be Howling, but they really don't emphasise that -gu...
  • I tried to distinguish characters' voices a little more, not only to match the original script, but also to spice up the language of our own. It's likely the most time-consuming part of my process, as I have to figure out how to make things translate well to English whilst keeping in mind each character's mannerisms, tics and habits. I basically put myself in the shoes of each character.
    • I gave Takao some additional conjunctions and simplicity, partially because SquareAnon's translations are naturally a bit stiff (can't blame non-native speakers), but also because he was talking a lot more fancily than he sounded.
    • The Professor speaks the most stiffly amongst the BBA, and sometimes a little too politely. His dialogue now more accurately reflects that.
    • Kai is fairly emotionally distant, or at least tries to be, so I toned up his apathy to better match what he's saying without making him sound like a total edgelord shounen protagonist.
    • Rei and Max speak fairly normally as far as foreigners go, so they weren't affected nearly as much. I did ensure that Max (and his mother's) dialogue sounded a little bit more American here or there and fact-checked the occasional reference to Rei's heritage, but you probably won't notice them.
    • Oliver is an artist, and as another artist, I get where he's coming from. Still, his elitism and snobbishness had to be on full display to fit the thematic purpose, so he may sound a bit mean at first. He does warm up with time.
  • I'm from a French-speaking part of Canada and have a good grasp on the French language and culture, so I went all-out on the couple of episodes that took place in Paris, stereotypes and all. If you have any suggestions or complaints, send them my way.
  • Information and exposition for these episodes were predominately handled by SquareAnon, as he's Italian to begin with. He did a good job.
  • I played with the capitalisation and contextual usage of some things, particularly switching between BBA Team and BBA, and better capitalization for proper nouns like the World Tournament.
  • While I write in Canadian or British English, the script will remain in American English.
I actually am running late for an appointment and have to go, but please let me know what you think of these changes, and as always, feel free to leave as much positive and/or negative feedback as you wish. Any and all comments or suggestions are appreciated. Fansubbing deserves more transparency and that consumers deserve to be in the know, so this is just a quick post on my way out. Hope it clears some things up, and that you have a nice day. Our tiny revisions of HnY's Beyblade 40 will be with you shortly.

P.S - I'm actually looking for shorter things to start subbing on my own under the group name (in other words, taking on my own project), so if you have any suggestions as to smaller work that remains unsubbed, I'm all ears. Anything will be considered.

Let's & Go!! Batch (01-34) + Beyblade 39

The moment when you realize that the thing
coming out of Olivier's helmet is his hair
Some days ago we finally released the latest batch for Let's & Go!!, which includes episodes from 1 to 34.
Here are the links:

We also released Beyblade 39, which ends the European arc:
As some of you may already know, Hoshi no Yume had already worked on the Russia arc, the final 12 episodes of the series. We will be using their translation as a base and just adapting it to our style and naming conventions. This means that the releases of these episodes should be much faster than usual.

We're also still had at work with the Beyblade batch for the first half of the series, so please have just a little more patience.

Beyblade 37-38 + Let's & Go!! 36-37

Remember when I promised I would keep the blog up to date? Well I don't. Sorry as always for the delay. I think yo're better off checking on or periodically and look out for our releases there.

Anyway, here are our latest releases:

Get a room, you two.
Here are the latest episodes:
Beyblade 34 pantsu si
L&G 33 pantsu si

Since I've been asked a couple of times, about the earlier episodes of Beyblade: yes, we plan on reuploading them using the new higher res raws. Work has been going slow lately, but we're still progressing with the second L&G batch and the first Beyblade one. I hope you'll have some more patience.

Beyblade 32-33 + L&G 31-32

Already said this to my group members, but I call dibs on her(?)
Hey there. Yep, I'm back to my usual delayed posts.
Let's skip the chit chat.

About the requests for MEGA links and seeds on older episodes: we're really sorry about this. We're working on getting MEGA links, but since we're close to completing the batches for both Beyblade and L&G, we hope you'll be able to get those instead.
Either way, we'll keep you updated.

EDIT: Mega links for old episodes are below. Inserted a jump break because it's a looong list.

Saturday, May 27, 2017

Believe it or not, we really did.
Yes, you read that right. After more than one year from the release of episode 52, the final and complete batch of Medarot is finished. In fact, you may already have seen the torrents we uploaded to nyaa (that's be my fault for making this post late, sorry about that).

Here are the links:

As you may expect, this batch includes all kinds of fixes, edits, corrections and whatnot. We even edited the raws to improve color and contrast (let's hope the series gets the Bluray edition it surely deserves).
Well, that's all for now. I know you have waited more than enough so I won't keep you any longer. Download and enjoy the series!

Beyblade 27-28-29-30 + Let's & Go!! 26-27-28-29

I'm Kai Okeetuh
Sorry for the huge delay, everyone. Truth is, I've had some problems with my PC lately so work's been going pretty slow.
Anyway, here are the links to our latest episodes.

I uploaded them to because was giving me problems with their tracker. In the future, I will upload to both sites.

RIP Nyaa, you will be missed - But we're still alive!

I think by now you all know what happened to Nyaa. It's a very sad time for us all.
Anyway, for now you can have these magnet links of our previous stuff:

We're still updating this list so stay tuned.
If things go well, the batches for Medarot and Beyblade 1-26 should be ready relatively soon. We're still looking as to where to upload the new torrents, but we will keep you updated.

Let's hope this time of crisis will end soon.

Beyblade 25/26/27 - Let's & Go!! 25/26

Wow, I guess I got brain problems, cause I was totally sure I posted about the older episodes. Oh well, sorry about that.

Anyway, here are our latest releases.

Let's & Go!!:

We're still hard at work on the batches, but in the mean time we will go forward with subbing the rest of the series.

Let's & Go!! 23 - 24 + Beyblade 24

Grandpa is about to GO HOME with the WHITE PIGGU
It's been a while, hasn't it?

I'm finally done with University (and with a full score too, so I'm pretty happy), so it's back to subbing full time (kinda) for me. Of course, I forgot to update the blog for some time, so I'll start by linking the torrents for the latest episodes we subbed this last couple of weeks.
Let's & Go!! 23, 24
Beyblade 24

In the next couple of weeks both series will reach the midway point so from there, we'll work on releasing the respective batches (14-26 for L&G and 1-26 for Beyblade).

Beyblade 22 - 23 + Let's & Go!! 22

Beyblade 21 + Let's & Go!! 21

>you will never be a Japanese kid in 1996 sending
your badass Mini 4WD designs to have them shown on TV

Feels bad man
This time, we bring to you Beyblade 21 and L&G!! 21.

I'm almost done with my Master Degree, which means I can dedicate more time to translating!
Expect the pace to stay around 2-3 episodes per week from now on.

Beyblade 20 + Let's & Go!! 20

You Have My Sword! And My Bow! And My Axe!

We're back! + Let's & Go!! 19

Growth spurt? Growth spurt.
We're not dead! In fact, we uploaded Let's & Go!! 19 10 days ago. Sorry about the delay for making this post.
Also I want to give some updates on our other series:
The Medarot batch is still not ready but we're getting close, I promise. Work has been slow lately, but we're trying to wrap things up soon.
Beyblade will most likely get a batch for episodes 1-19 instead of 1-13, which should be ready relatively soon.

Sorry again for disappearing since last month. I've been really busy finishing up my graduation thesis, but that will be over next month. In the mean time, I'm trying to slowly get back into pace with subbing, but that will take some time as well. I hope you will still stick with us. Thanks for your patience.
